I received a comment from Grandpa P in Nashville, commenting on his classical music station there in Tennessee. Grandpa P tells me that the station does not carry BBC News. But NPR is really not an acceptable substitute, because the quality and reach of NPR are not equal to those of the BBC.
As to KBYU-FM here in Utah, I have long sought to have more of BBC Radio News especially on Saturdays and Sundays. Currently on Saturdays, there are only three broadcasts of BBC News. On Sundays there are only four. This is totally insufficient.
I call on KBYU's management, specifically general manager Marcus Smith, and program director Eric Glissmeyer, to fix the glaring deficiency of BBC News by adding three extra news casts on Saturdays and two extra newscasts on Sundays.
