On KBYU-FM, why must Mark Wait and the student announcers insist on adding the words "on Classical 89" after every piece of music played on air. This becomes truly annoying especially when Wait and the students use it to excess. Stop, please.
If it is so important to KBYU's Marcus Smith, general manager, and Eric Glissmeyer, program selection manager, that "Classical 89" be repeated 10 times every hour, perhaps they should consider working for KCPW-FM, another "public" station in Salt Lake City which has its announcers say its call sign about five times every minute.
How serene and so much better it is to listen to Peter Van de Graaff, KBYU's nighttime announcer, who mentions the words "Classical 89" only once at the top of each hour.
