KCPW-FM 88.3 CUTS OFF ENDING SECONDS OF BRYANT PARK PROJECT

KCPW-FM 88.3 and AM 1010 screwed up this morning on the closing minutes of The Bryant Park Project about 6:58. As Luke Burbank, one of the co-hosts, was delivering his swan song on his last day working for BPP, KCPW cut him off in mid-sentence to go to one of its hoaky commercials (read "underwriting spots").

The result was that KCPW prevented us fans of BPP from hearing Burbank's final words. This is like cutting off the Super Bowl as one team is about to come from behind and win the game with a last-second field goal.

This illustrates my beef with KCPW. The station calls itself a "public radio station" but will do anything and everything to increase its revenue and income, even if it means cannibalizing NPR's programming or news. Witness today's unfortunate and misplaced cutting and dicing of BPP.
